A few days ago I got a call from an old friend, Mary Catherine. Her Mom is moving to a smaller place and she wants to find a new home for her player piano. 15 years ago, Mary Catherine acquired the piano as part of the deal when she bought a bungalow in the city. At the time, I admired it and told her that I had wanted a player piano myself for many years. She remembered that, and now has offered the piano to me, ...for free!!! The piano dates to 1912 and was made in Philadelphia under the "Regent" label, licensed from a British piano company. The player mechanism is not in it at the moment, but Mary Catherine still has it, and will give it to me along with the piano. The player part no doubt needs much work, but the piano itself is in reasonably good working condition. The finish is badly aged in places, and needs some TLC.( read more and look at the photos )
