Wild Thunderstorm

4:20 AM -- It has been a hot and humid night, with barely a trace of a breeze. I woke up about 25 minutes ago to the crack of a loud thunderclap, the second thunderstorm of the night. I love a good thunderstorm, so I put on my boxers, and went out to the front porch to watch it for a while. As I sat on the porch, with lightening flashing all around, a bolt of lightening struck the power lines diagonally in front of my house, sending a shower of bright white sparks cascading to the sidewalk. All the streetlights went out, from the flash of light, but the power stayed on.

Once my heart stops pounding, I am going back to bed!!

There is a line crew where the lightning hit the power lines. The lightning brought down the high voltage line supplying part of my neighborhood.
