Yeah, Scott, Monday was good stamping weather. ;-) Living in Syracuse, it is helpful to have a hobby like stamp collecting ~it is a lot easier on the body than skiing.

I built that gate about 20 years ago as a gift to my neighbor, an older woman named Betty, who was a good friend for many years. She died about 15 years ago, but I have always been on friendly terms with Michael, who bought the house from her estate. I am really glad to have had 2 excellent neighbors here over the years. In many ways this neighborhood is socially closer than many modern suburban neighborhoods where people don't know each other. We have a neighborhood group that organizes block parties, Sunday brunches, a Community garden, historic house tours and other social and civic activities. The whole attitude harks back to an earlier era.
