Work has been slow lately, with little to do. I have spent entire days being lazy, lounging around the house in my boxers. Right now I have about 4 days growth of beard, not by plan ...just neglect! Today was the day that I was supposed to snap myself out of this pattern and get back into a productive routine.
We need to hang the shutters that we built for Tim & Andrew and have been waiting for the hardware to arrive. The "Clark's Patent" hinges that I ordered finally arrived yesterday at dinnertime, and the shutter dogs (hold-backs) should arrive late tomorrow. Mark and I strung the hinge parts on a wire and hung them from the beams in the cellar so both sides of the bare iron castings could be spray primed at the same time. We stuck the screws in a piece of foam-board to hold them for priming. With the priming done, I realized that I didn't have the right kind of balck spray paint for the final coat, so we decided to head out to Home Depot.
It snowed about 2 or 3 inches last night, the most snowfall we have had at at one time so far this winter. By late morning, a cold rain was falling on top of the new snow giving it a crunchy crust. By the time we had cleared the snow off the windshield, the freezing rain had already formed a layer of fresh ice on the glass. It soon became clear that we simply couldn't drive anywhere under those conditions. Being a firm believer that discression is the better part of valor, I decided to concede defeat for the time being and stay home for another lazy day of lounging. So, here I am, at the computer, doing my best to waste another day.
